Head north to the Whisper Gulch entrance at (33,33). Down in the Gulch, type in /raise when targetting Abandoned Pack Mules. Use the [Steelring's Foolproof Dynamite] on the ores you find and collect the ores/gems from the explosions. After you complete Danger! Explosives! and Send Them Packing!, use your [Hearthstone] or ride back to Westguard Keep.

Turn in both quests and take Leader of the Deranged. Head back to Whisper Gulch once inside the gulch, head west to the mine entrance at (31,35). Inside kill Squeeg Idolhunter to complete the quest.

I use the following alternate shortcut to quickly get to the mine entrance at (31,35) for Leader of the Deranged:

Ride south to the Ember Spear Tower at (44,57) and turn in Report to Scout Knowles and take Mission: Eternal Flame. Head east to Halgrind and use the [Ever-burning Torches] at the following locations to complete the quest (don't go into Halgrind, this all done outside of it):

1. Southeast Plague Tank - (51,57)
2. Southwest Plague Tank - (48,55)
3. Nouthwest Plague Tank - (48,52)
4. Northeast Plague Tank - (51,50)

Turn in the quest at Ember Spear Tower (44,57) and take Mission: Package Retrieval. Head east back to Halgrind and to the east of the pool at (51,54), loot the [Apothecary's Package]. Turn this in again at Ember Spear Tower and take Mission: Forsaken Intel.

Follow the road southwest now to The Ancient Lift at (40,60).
